ARTISAN GOAT CHEESE​

Monte Verde Farm artisan goat cheese is made from our own fresh goats milk from our farm raised goats, in small batches, pasteurized, packaged, and sent to market.

Enjoy our soft and hard varieties of artisan goat cheese for nutritional values and its tangy, earthy flavor. Spread on crackers, crumbled in salads, dips, on pasta, pizza, in quiche and frittatas. Our artisan goat cheese comes in flavored spreadable chèvre, a Blooming Goat and a Blooming Black Goat which is rolled in a protective black vegetable ash. Both are a semi-young cheese aged 2-3 weeks producing a creamy buttery center and bloomy rind. Our semi-aged cheese, Drunken Goat, is aged 3-4 months and rubbed in port wine.

Goats cheese, also know as Chèvre which means goat in French, is packed with probiotics that aid in digestion, is naturally rich in Omega-3, calcium, protein and healthy fats. Some fat in goats cheese comes from Capric acid, a beneficial medium chain fatty acid with anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Due to it having more short-chain fatty acids, goats cheese is lower in lactose than cows milk. It is naturally low in calories, carbohydrates, cholesterol, fat, salt, and rich in vitamin A, B, D, riboflavin, calcium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium.
